Tenure Index

Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 10, 2026

1. What This Site Is

Tenure Index is a web tool that estimates AI displacement risk for job titles. Assessments are generated by combining structured occupational task data from the U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET database with analysis performed by Anthropic's Claude AI model. Scores are estimates based on occupational characteristics — not predictions about any individual's employment.

2. How Assessments Are Generated

When you submit a job title, Tenure Index performs the following steps: your job title is matched to a standardized occupation in O*NET; task and work activity data for that occupation is retrieved; that occupational data — along with any experience or education inputs you provide — is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a displacement score, narrative, and task-level analysis; the result is stored in our database and returned to you.

Your job title and optional inputs are transmitted to Anthropic's API as part of this process. We do not send personally identifying information to Anthropic — only the occupational inputs required to generate the assessment. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy.

3. Data We Collect

When you search a job title, we log the job title, the matched O*NET occupation code, the resulting score, and your approximate city and state (derived from your IP address via ipapi.co). We do not store your IP address directly. Generated assessments are stored with a unique identifier used to serve your results page.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address alongside the job title and score from your session. We use Resend to deliver transactional and newsletter email. Resend's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy.
